01 May Tesla Autopilot Feature Tested Again
Tesla was in the news recently for a fatal crash. While user error has typically been linked to the prior crashes, this instance was the first where the crash was as a result of the autonomous feature. The crash, along with failure to meet production demands, resulted in the TSLA stock decreasing in price. Tesla is once again in damage control mode. The Tesla autopilot feature was tested again and successfully avoided a collision with a semi-truck that drifted into its lane. To watch the video, go to this link.
While autonomous driving appears to still be some time away, more companies are getting involved with the idea that safety will be of paramount importance. That is why it is unlikely to be rolled out in full until all the various kinks and safety issues are worked out. Until then, please drive safely to avoid automobile collisions.
